The design results of the EMU cab will have an important impact on the overall EMU. Therefore, designing and manufacturing an EMU cab with smooth curved surface, beautiful appearance and compliance with aerodynamic requirements has become a focus issue for designers.

Facing problems

The requirements for scanning the high-speed train cockpit are very high, with large arcs and many curved surfaces. It is difficult to use traditional measurement methods to quickly and accurately obtain the three-dimensional model data of the high-speed train cockpit.

Solution

In response to the problems faced by customers, HOLON3D technical engineers proposed a solution to use: the handheld 3D scanner HL-3DH-3M to obtain the 3D data of the EMU cockpit. The EMU researchers used the scanned 3D data to calculate the subsequent train flow field numerically. , model wind tunnel testing, secondary design and product improvement of outer panel molds.
