An international airline’s aircraft nose reverse case

        A customer makes aircraft simulation equipment, which is used in internal aircraft teaching of major airlines. It needs to obtain a high-precision three-dimensional model of the aircraft nose. HOLON engineers used our company's newly launched HL-W3000 to obtain it quickly and accurately. The three-dimensional data of the aircraft nose meets the airline’s needs for training new students and retraining old employees.

Facing problems

        1. The aircraft nose is large, and traditional measurement methods are too inefficient and inaccurate, making it very difficult to reverse design and model later. Waste too much human and material resources.

         2. The curvature of the outer surface of the aircraft is difficult to measure manually. Customers need to obtain accurate data on the nose of Boeing series aircraft and use equipment with high measurement accuracy.

Solution

        In order to shorten the modeling cycle and reduce the cost of aircraft nose research and development, HOLON 3D proposed a solution based on the problems faced by customers: use our company's newly launched industrial-grade 3D scanner W3000 to obtain the 3D data of the aircraft nose. This 3D scanner has the characteristics of extremely fast scanning speed, high precision, simple operation, and strong stability. During the scanning process, the software automatically spliced the three-dimensional data through landmark points, and quickly acquired the complete three-dimensional data of the aircraft nose. Customers can import the scanned 3D data into the software to fit the SLT triangular mesh surface, and import it into the 3D design software for reverse design. The design and improvement of product structure improves efficiency and saves costs.
