Racecar refitting -- Car bottom
Hualang 3D was commissioned to scan the Kia K3s and was modified by a well-known racing company. Scan the bottom of the car for 3D data on the design of the chassis.
Automotive chassis structure relative to the shell is much more complicated.
Customers need to use the car bottom of the three-dimensional data reverse design car
chassis,so,the accuracy of scanning will directly affect the quality of the racecar
chassis.
According to the racecar bottom’s size and complexity.Holon engineer was recommended to
use HL-3DWV+.HL-3DWV+(wide-range) is the highest configuration product of HL-3DW series.
It not only inherited the HL - 3DW’s large-format mode,and it uses the German
original lens to gives it a higher scanning precision.
The scan steps are roughly the same as the car shell,But, due to the car bottom
scanning data’s number of splicing are lesser than shell,so,we do not need 3D photogram-
metric system,direct use 3D scanner will be fine.
And we need lift the car up to a certain height with auto lift.Next,we just need to
adjust the angle of the scanner,shoot the racecar bottom like taking photos.Don't worry
about a single scan can't cover the whole racecar bottom, or splicing leads to data in-
accurate,our independent research and development of scanning software will automatical-
ly splicing the scan data,of course, also support manual splicing.Finally, the scanning
software will generate a dense point cloud data to describe the three-dimensional info-
rmation of the racecar bottom.Now,the scan complete,maybe we should pour a glass of
brandy to celebrate.
After the scan,we need to give the data to the reverse engineer.Scan data support for
ASC,STL, PLY, IGES etc. A variety of formats,So engineers can use all kinds of software
processing the data,like Pro/E、UG etc.
