Aircraft represent the pinnacle of high-end manufacturing technology; whether in component fabrication, product inspection, or the assembly process itself, no errors are tolerated, placing extremely high demands on measurement and inspection technologies. Leveraging its expertise, rigorous standards, and extensive technical capabilities, HOLON 3D provides clients with comprehensive solutions based on 3D digital technology.

Facing problems

1. The client has extremely high precision requirements for the 3D data of aircraft components, necessitating an overall error margin of less than 0.02 mm.

2. Precise positioning of holes and grooves on the aircraft components is required; however, traditional measurement methods fail to capture sufficient data to support redesign or product quality inspection.

To address the specific characteristics of aircraft parts, HOLON 3D engineers proposed a solution utilizing the HL-3DM 3D scanner (to rapidly acquire high-precision 3D data of the parts) and reverse engineering software (to convert the point cloud data into triangular mesh data) for the redesign of the aircraft components.

1. Preliminary Preparation:

Apply developer spray and affix reference markers.

2. 3D Scanning:

Reposition the aircraft component to capture data from various angles, allowing the 3D scanner (HL-3DM) to acquire comprehensive 3D data. The process takes just 10 minutes and achieves an accuracy of 0.01 mm. The resulting point cloud data features high density and excellent reproduction of detailed characteristics. Finally, the 3D data is imported into reverse engineering software for redesigning the component.
