The enclosure of an automated device is a key part of the equipment. Its main role is to protect the internal mechanical and electronic components from dust, moisture, chemical corrosion, and other external factors, so designing and manufacturing the enclosure is really important.
1. Many electronic components are mounted on the box, and the internal space is compactly arranged, requiring high precision.
2. There are many holes on the box for assembly, and we need to get their complete data as well as accurate size measurements.
To tackle the problems the client was facing, Hualang's 3D tech engineers used the 3D scanner Model 49 (scanning speed 4,200,000 points/s, scanning accuracy 0.02mm). They first used the large-area mode to quickly scan the whole case, then switched to deep-hole scanning mode to fill in details and holes. This way, they could get accurate and complete 3D data for later optimization and maintenance.
