The wheel hub is the rotating central component of the wheel—connected to the rim via spokes—that supports the tire and mounts onto the axle. The hub's center bore is the section that secures the wheel to the vehicle; located at the geometric center of the hub, its diameter determines whether the geometric center of the rim can align perfectly with the geometric center of the hub during installation.

The client needs to scan wheel hubs to measure their diameters. Obtaining precise 3D data serves as a reference, helping to minimize dimensional errors during production and ensure accurate installation.

The HOLON 751, a new type of handheld 3D scanner, is used to perform a comprehensive 3D scan of the wheel hub and capture high-precision data. Featuring 21 laser scanning lines, the device offers rapid scanning speeds and high data accuracy—down to 0.01 mm—thereby enhancing production efficiency. The acquired data is then imported into 3D inspection software to measure the wheel hub's diameter and obtain the corresponding dimensions.
