The client is a renowned enterprise integrating the manufacturing and sales of pumps. Seeking to meet market demands and enhance competitiveness, they decided to move away from traditional inspection methods and adopt advanced measurement technologies. Drawn by our reputation, they invited us to conduct a product demonstration to rapidly and accurately obtain detailed 3D inspection results; this enables the assessment of product conformity, thereby improving product quality and accelerating development.
1. The water pump impeller is small in size and features a surface with localized areas of deep black and metallic reflectivity, which complicates the scanning process. As the component is prone to deformation during manufacturing, quality control is critical, and the client requires extremely high precision.
2. Relying solely on traditional inspection methods (such as checking fixtures, jigs, and CMMs) is difficult and time-consuming; the process is cumbersome and inefficient, making it challenging to accurately and rapidly measure or inspect structural features like the curvature of the impeller's surfaces.

The water pump impeller is small in size and features highly curved surfaces with a deep black, metallic, reflective finish, making it difficult to scan. The client required both high scanning speeds and exceptional precision. Conventional inspection methods used by competitors not only required the application of imaging spray but also suffered from slow scanning speeds and complex workflows; the process was time-consuming, failed to effectively measure many dimensional and geometric features, and was prone to secondary errors that compromised production quality and efficiency.

To address the challenges faced by the client, HOLON 3D technical engineers utilized the HOLON760 handheld 3D scanner to rapidly and accurately capture 3D data of the impeller. The process was convenient and efficient, requiring no spray-on imaging agent, while delivering high scanning speeds and measurement precision, thereby successfully resolving the client's issues.
