The customer needs to perform 1:1 reverse modeling of this high‑precision electric rotary stage for subsequent structural optimization, spare‑part replication or secondary development. This workpiece features densely‑arranged mounting holes and precision rotating‑shaft interfaces. It is difficult to obtain complete 3D data using traditional measurement methods, so Holon 3D was selected to provide a digital solution.

It is difficult to fully acquire data for complex curved surfaces and deep cavities using calipers, height gauges and other tools. The mounting hole positions and rotating‑shaft interfaces have extremely high precision requirements; minor deviations will result in assembly failure. Most importantly, there is a mirror surface in the middle of the workpiece, which tends to reflect light. There is a baseline on the mirror surface, and the customer requires the position of this line to be plotted accurately.

The Holon 3D technical team developed a professional digital solution. They used the Hualang 3D handheld 3D scanner together with reverse‑design software for data processing. Powder spraying was applied on the mirror‑like highly reflective areas to enhance contrast. The fine scanning mode was adopted to fully preserve the actual shapes of complex curved surfaces, cavities and hole positions, and high‑density 3D point‑cloud data was acquired in all directions. The complete point cloud was imported into the software. After denoising and simplification, triangular meshes were generated, which were further reconstructed into editable CAD digital models. The results fully satisfied the client’s requirements and provided reliable data support for replica production.
