A well-known domestic fuel injection pump manufacturer hopes to quickly obtain the appearance data of its existing fuel injection pumps using a 3D scanner to accelerate the development of new products.
1. Traditional measurement methods (such as gauges, jigs, coordinate measuring machines, etc.) are cumbersome, time-consuming, and difficult to accurately and quickly measure and inspect the structure of the fuel injection pump.
2. The fuel injection pump has a complex shape with varying groove shapes and numerous curved surfaces. This results in incomplete 3D data acquisition, making secondary design impossible.
The fuel injection pump is a crucial component of a diesel engine, considered its "heart." A malfunction in the fuel injection pump can cause the entire engine to malfunction. This company wanted to use a 3D scanner to perform a 3D scan of the fuel injection pump for secondary design and improvement. In response to the client's needs, Huaguang 3D engineers proposed a solution using the Huaguang 3DS+ scanner to quickly acquire high-precision 3D data of the fuel injection pump. This data was then imported into reverse engineering software, converted into triangular mesh data, and further processed using mainstream design software, thus accelerating the secondary design of the fuel injection pump.

1. Preliminary Preparations
Spraying developer: Improves the contrast of the sample surface background color, resulting in better scanning data.
Applying markers: Enables the positioning and stitching of the acquired data in the scanning software.

2. 3D Scanning
The HOLON 3D scanner (3DS+) boasts a high scanning speed, acquiring 3D data for the fuel injection pump in just 10 minutes with a high data accuracy of 0.02mm. The Huaguang 3D scanner (3DS+) employs extrapolation multi-frequency phase-shift grating technology, encoding point calibration technology, and fully automatic stitching technology. The fuel injection pump data is imported into 3D reverse engineering software for processing, and the processed data is then imported into mainstream design software for engine reverse engineering. This accelerates new product development and improves engine performance.
