The truck steering arm is a core component of the vehicle steering system. It is responsible for accurately transmitting the steering force input from the steering wheel to the wheels and coordinating the steering geometry to ensure handling flexibility and driving stability. Its high‑strength materials and precision structural design are directly related to driving safety. If it fractures or deforms, loss of steering control may occur and result in serious accidents. Therefore, strict control over geometric accuracy (e.g., hole position tolerance of ±0.02 mm) is required during manufacturing, and high‑precision inspection using technologies such as 3D scanning shall be performed to guarantee its reliability and durability under complex loads.

1. The scanned part provided by the customer has a complex structure with holes, which poses certain difficulties for the scanning work overall.
2. The part has a dark‑colored surface. The customer requires that no developer spray be applied. Good scanning results and high‑accuracy acquired data are expected, so that the data can deliver satisfactory performance in subsequent applications.

Holon 3D engineers use the handheld 3D scanner Model49 with fine mode together with magnetic target markers to perform comprehensive scanning of workpieces. Switching to the single‑line laser scanner enables scanning of deep holes and dead corners, which helps resolve difficulties caused by fine‑detail features.

Hand‑held scanners feature flexible operation. They can scan at multi‑directional adjustable angles and capture data quickly and accurately. The scanned data can be imported into 3D software for data processing, after which it can be exported in the file formats required by customers. This enables customers to skillfully operate the software for design work. Customers are satisfied with our scanned data thanks to its high precision, and the data can be applied to the renderings for subsequent design.
