A snowmobile manufacturer intends to break through performance bottlenecks by 3D‑scanning old‑model snowboards to acquire high‑precision structural data. The data will be compared and analyzed against the new‑version design models to accurately identify shortcomings in aerodynamics and structural strength, so as to support the iterative upgrading of the new‑generation products.

Facing problems

Older‑generation snowboards feature complex continuous curved surfaces. Traditional scanning devices tend to produce data gaps in dense detailed areas such as curved flow guide grooves and micro‑protrusion textures, resulting in distorted comparisons between old and new models. Manual repair is time‑consuming and prone to introducing errors, which severely restricts the efficiency of performance‑optimization decision‑making.

Solution

The HOLON 3D handheld 3D scanner breaks through material‑related limitations with full‑blue‑light technology. Boasting an accuracy of 0.02 mm and a scanning speed of 4.2 million points per second, it fully captures fine details on curved surfaces. Four scanning modes are available for flexible switching. It can complete 3D modeling for rigid ski plates and flexible frames in a single scan. The resulting data can be directly used for comparison, supporting coupled aerodynamic‑structural optimization, and fully meeting customers’ requirements for high‑precision data comparison and rapid iteration.
