3D digitization is suitable for various fields and is an important tool for helping a company's design and manufacturing departments improve their development and production capabilities. When performing 3D scanning, because the turbine casing being measured is huge, using traditional scanning methods is not only very inefficient but also produces less data, with incomplete surface information, which can't meet the company's higher demands for efficiency and quality.

Handheld 3D scanners are currently popular in fields like industrial 3D inspection and reverse engineering. Their main advantages are flexibility, portability, and high accuracy.

The object being tested is an ultra-large steam turbine casing with a circumference of about 20 meters and a height of 8 meters. Using the Model 49 for scanning, high-precision 3D data can be obtained in a short time (around 3 hours). With the traditional measurement methods the client used, it would take about 3 days, and manual measurements have a very high error rate and are time-consuming and labor-intensive, which is not conducive to later product development or improving overall production efficiency.
