The mold cavity directly determines the shape, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality of the molded product. A high-precision cavity effectively ensures product quality. Consequently, the mold cavity plays a crucial role in industrial production; its design and manufacturing must take into account specific part requirements and processing techniques to ensure high-quality, efficient production.
1. The workpiece is large in size and features numerous curved surfaces and holes, requiring data on hole depths.
2. The mold is a precision component with stringent accuracy requirements; traditional measurement methods struggle to assess overall dimensional deviations.

Based on the features of the client's workpiece, a HOLON 3D engineer conducted a scanning demonstration using the Smart 49 handheld 3D scanner. They first used the wide-range scanning mode to capture the overall profile of the mold, then switched to the single-laser-line deep-hole scanning mode to specifically scan deep-hole locations and precisely capture their interior details. The scanner offers an accuracy of up to 0.02 mm. Compact and easy to operate, the device provides real-time imaging; once scanning is complete, the data can be imported into inspection software to quickly generate PDF inspection reports.
