A wind turbine blade manufacturer in Chengdu required quality inspection of 3D data for their blades. As these are core components of the turbine assembly, strict quality control is essential during production. To verify whether the finished products met the required standards and to address the client's specific challenges, engineers from HOLON utilized the 3DH-3M handheld 3D laser scanner to scan the blades and conduct a comparative analysis for 3D inspection.
1. The client requires high-speed, high-precision scanning of wind turbine blades, with minimal overall error in the scanned data.
2. The blade surfaces feature significant curvature variations and complex contours; traditional measuring tools are unable to capture the necessary curvature data.
Deviations can occur during the production of wind turbine blades. Traditional measurement methods yield limited data and fail to accurately capture the 3D surface geometry of the blades. HOLON 3D Technology engineers utilized the 3DH-3M handheld 3D scanner to rapidly acquire 3D data; this solution offered high precision, high speed, ease of use, and efficiency, successfully meeting the client's scanning requirements and resolving the issues they faced.
